Sencha Japanese Green Tea
Sencha (煎茶) is the most popular variety of Japanese Green Tea. As opposed to Matcha, where the leaves are ground and powdered, Sencha leaves are not. With Sencha, leaves picked during the first harvest (Shincha) are considered to make the best tasting tea.
Matcha Powdered Japanese Green Tea
Matcha (抹茶) is a variety of green tea where the tea leavs are finely milled into a powder. The powder is actually mixed and dissolved into the tea. Matcha Green Tea is well known as the tea of choice for Japanese Green Tea Ceremony.
Matcha Green Tea Powder can also be used in cooking - such as Matcha Ice-Cream, Matcha cakes and cookies, and many other foods.
